Rutigliano had a few good things to say about Plastic. He complimented the site on its well organized structure and on the "orderly and methodical" nature of its editorial process. He also seemed to think that our comments section featured thoughtful comments that added genuinely relevant information to story that was being discussed. However, Rutigliano was rather critical of Plastic in a number of key areas. He suggested that the site relied too heavily on the mainstream media, both in terms of link selection and ? more generally ? the selection of what topics to discuss on a week to week basis. At times, he felt that Plastic served as "nothing more than a distribution outlet for the mainstream media". Additionally, Rutigliano thought that Quicklinks featured more interesting stories than the main sections, but complained that it was inappropriate for a "collaborative weblog" to feature content that could not be commented on by users.
